RYE, N.Y. - A motion has been filed by the U.S. District Attorney's office regarding the 2009 Hilton Rye Town murder, according to Herb Hadad of the U.S. Attorney's Office for New York State.
"As you build towards a case, information is exchanged and motions are filed on a schedule," Hadad said Friday. "What was given out was part of the pretrial legal process."
On July, 12, 2009, millionare hotel-heir Ben Novack Jr. was found bound and beaten to death in his Rye Town Hotel room. About one year later Novack's wife and her brother, Cristobil Veliz, were arrested in Florida and have since been accused of hiring two men to murder Novack.
The motion was in regard to interviews conducted by police with Narcy Novack. In the interviews, Narcy Novack claims her innocence, stating that she had no knowledge of her husband's murder until she found him dead in their Rye Town Hilton hotel room.
It has been reported by the Journal News that Novack's lawyers are attempting to suppress the transcripts.
