A mock terrorist attack in Lower Manhattan Sunday morning was the first test of the New York City Police Department’s Critical Response Team under conditions similar to those that occurred in Paris.

The 527 officers respond only to active shooters, terrorist-like attacks and active shooters strapped with suicide vests, Capital New York reports. Local and federal law enforcement agencies assisted, the article says. It's been in the works for over a year.
