Track changes will continue Tuesday for Metro-North riders who catch trains between Greenwich and Rye because of continuing track repairs near Rye:

  • Customers traveling between Greenwich and Rye to Grand Central will need to use the outbound (to New Haven) platform, and
  • Customers traveling to New Haven will need to use the inbound (to Grand Central) platform during the AM peak through 10 a.m.
Customers should anticipate delays of 10 to 15 minutes.

Bridge plates are being used on the inbound platforms between Greenwich and Rye stations. Riders are reminded to use caution and do not wait on the bridge plate for the train.

Last Thursday, at least a dozen passengers were injured when a commuter train derailed near the station in Rye.

The New Haven Line train, which was headed to Stamford, was traveling in a slow-speed zone when it derailed, the MTA said. Five cars of the 12-car train went off the tracks.

The train cars remained upright but the wheels, came off the tracks, the MTA said.
