Latest Rye Schools Bomb Threat Is Under Investigation

RYE, N.Y. -- Rye City School District schools reopened late Friday morning after an earlier evacuation while a bomb threat was investigated.

Students, faculty and staff were evacuated from the building and Rye City Police and County Police were on the scene.

Rye City Schools received the threat at 7:33 a.m. via an email directed to both the high school and middle school, Rye Police said.

Both schools were safely evacuated and the Rye Police Department, along with the Westchester County Police Department Hazardous Device Unit, checked the entire facility and deemed it safe. 

The incident is under investigation by both the Rye Police Department and the Westchester County Police.

It is the third time Rye Schools have received a bomb threat this school year.
