Joseph G. Apuzzo Sr., 88, Of Rye Brook, CEO Of Armenia Coffee Corp.

RYE BROOK, N.Y. - Joseph G. Apuzzo Sr. of Rye Brook died May 1. He was 88.

Apuzzo was born in the Bronx, lived on Long Island for 10 years and from 1965 to the present, in Westchester. He was a graduate of St. John's University, a WWII veteran and a certified public accountant.

Apuzzo was the CEO of Armenia Coffee Corporation of Purchase, until his retirement. He served for many years on the Boards of Directors of the Green Coffee Association of New York, the National Coffee Association, the Coffee, Sugar and Cocoa Exchange and of Armenia Coffee Corporation. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Greenwich, Conn.

Apuzzo is survived by his wife, Jean;  four children, Janet Olszewski of Greenwich, Conn, Carol Long of New Fairfield, Conn., Diane Apuzzo of Pound Ridge and Joseph Apuzzo of New Canaan, Conn.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 5. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6 at St. Paul's. He will be interred in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Port Chester.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
