RYE, N.Y. -- If you missed Monday night's discussion of the future of Playland Amusement Park, you can watch a video of it here.

The Nov. 3 public meeting at the Rye Free Reading Room was hosted by Westchester County Legislator Catherine Parker, a Rye Democrat.

Parker reviewed the financial performance of Playland this past season and feedback from Sound Shore residents. At one point in Monday's meeting, Kim Morque, president of Sustainable Playland Inc., suggests that the Westchester County Board of Legislators and County Executive Rob Astorino find common ground and begin the Request For Proposals (RFP) process for a park operator all over again. "The process lacked a lot of clarity,'' Morque said. "There wasn't a consensus from the get-go. . . .

"But it's the same now. So I think you should start all over. You have to get consensus in county government,'' Morque said, ". . . or else it's going to be another, you know, frustration for everyone."

Parker held another meeting on Oct. 20 featuring representatives from Central Amusements, Inc. (CAI), who presented their plan for re-inventing Playland. A video of that discussion can be viewed here.

Parker plans to host another discussion on Nov. 17 with Standard Amusements, the other company being considered to manage Playland.

The videos were produced by Craig Meyerson and Andrew Dapolite for the Friends of Playland.
