Celebrate The Fourth Of July In Rye

RYE, N.Y. – Come to the Rye Free Reading Room on Wednesday for a celebration of the nation’s 236th birthday. The ceremony includes patriotic singing and unfurling of the American Legion’s historic American flag.

Selected speeches and a reading of the Declaration of Independence begin at 10:30 a.m. on the porch of the Rye Free Reading Room, located on the village green, 1061 Boston Post Road. The event is presented by Leaders of Tomorrow.

The evening of July 4 Rye Playland hosts fireworks at 9:30 p.m. The park’s operating schedule and admission prices can be found online or by calling 914-813-7010. Parking is $10 on July 4. Rye Playland can be reached via the New England Thruway (I-95), Playland Parkway exit 19, which leads directly into Playland.
