RYE, N.Y. - Dorothy A. Wilmot, a 50-year resident of Rye, died March 22. She was 90.
Wilmot was a longtime member of The Woman's Club of Rye and avvolunteer for Meals on Wheels.
She was born May 7, 1921, in Chicago, Ill., to Fred and Bernice Shuksto Mohlfeld. After graduating from Harper High School in 1939, Wilmot did undergraduate coursework at Northwestern University. She worked as an executive secretary at Eastman Kodak in Chicago for four years.
On Feb. 6, 1943, she married Irvin G. Wilmot, and they recently celebrated their 69th anniversary. In Rye, Wilmot was parishioner at Resurrection Church, serving as usher at the children's Mass for 12 years and as lector.
She is survived by her husband, Irvin, her daughter, Marcia B. Wilmot of Santa Clara, Calif., her son, David M. Wilmot of Las Vegas, Nev., her sister, Margaret M. Mohlfeld of Chicago, two nieces and a nephew.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Graham Funeral Home in Rye. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Church of the Resurrection. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye.
