Rye Native Ryan Mahoney, 31, Honored Friday

RYE, N.Y. -- Rye native Ryan Berndt Mahoney died Jan. 29 at New York Presbyterian Hospital after complications from Hodgkin's Disease. He as 31.  

He was born April 16, 1980 in Rye to Daniel and Susan Mahoney and graduated from Rye Country Day School in 1998. Mahoney received a bachelor's degree in economics from Dartmouth College in 2002 and was president of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. 

Mahoney worked as a managing director in institutional equities at Bear Stearns before becoming a director in the same department at Credit Suisse. Most recently of New York City, he married the former Alisha Weishaar. 

He is survived by his wife Alisha, his son Shaylon Daniel, his parents Daniel and Susan, his sister Melissa (Christopher) Wirth and his brother Derek Mahoney.

A wake will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home in New York City. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at Central Presbyterian Church in New York City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 593 Park Ave. New York, N.Y. 10065.
