Rye Concert Raises $35,000 for Parkinson's Research

RYE, N.Y. -- Local residents and musicians raised nearly $35,000 at the 13th annual Music for Parkinson’s Research Nov. 22 at the Congregation Emanu-El in Rye.

The benefit drew 120 guests for an afternoon of chamber music to benefit the research programs of the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.

The foundation's co-chair David Eger and volunteers organized the fundraiser.

The Attacca Quartet, the Quartet in Residence for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Gena Raps, of New York City, and pianist and faculty member at Mannes College The New School of Music performed he concert.

A wine and cheese reception with the musicians followed the concert.
