RYE BROOK, N.Y. – Rye Brook teens like Samantha Silfen, Emma Greenbaum, and Talia Bruckman joined other Westchester families in a volunteer project to make the Jewish holidays special for area senior citizens.

The teens assembled holiday foods, greeting cards, and hand-decorated picture frames to deliver to senior citizens in the north Bronx. This Rosh Hashanah program was sponsored by the Bronx Jewish Community Council and hosted at the Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester in Scarsdale.

The event was held in honor of the federally recognized observance of the Sept. 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance.
