Rye Arts Center Welcomes Four New Board Members

RYE, N.Y. -- The Rye Arts Center welcomed four new members to its Board of Directors at its annual meeting on June 9, including John Arenas, Paul Conn, Amy Lawrence and Anne Pollard.

Arenas, his wife and two children have lived in Rye for five years and in Mamaroneck for nine years. He has served on the boards of the Jay Heritage Center and the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Schools Foundation and coached youth soccer. Arenas is the CEO of Serendipity Labs Coworking, headquartered in Rye, now a national network of membership-based workplaces. Through Serendipity Labs, he has regularly supported and promoted local and regional artists through art shows and events at each location.

Conn has spent his 30+ year career working in financial markets, including many years at the London Stock Exchange and the Australian Stock Exchange. He currently works as president of Global Capital Markets for Computershare, and is based in New York. He is married to Kate, who is active in the Rye community. His non-profit experience includes acting as an early stage advisor to the National Kidney Registry and co-founding of The Wig Exchange.

Lawrence has lived in Rye with her husband and five children since 1999. She has over 25 years of design experience working with architects and builders as well as owning her own Interior Design firm in both Oregon and New York. She has volunteered at The Rye Arts Center in many facets including as a docent in the Famous Artists Program, as a committee member for Ladies Comedy Night in 2013 and 2014, and most recently as a co-chair of the 2015 Spring Gala.

Pollard has been a supporter of The Rye Arts Center for years, enjoying the art classes and the many events and exhibitions The RAC has to offer. She has been actively involved in the local community through volunteer work, serving as secretary for the SPI Board of Trustees, executive board member of the Milton PTO, chairperson or member of various committees within the Rye City Schools, and a dedicated volunteer for her children’s sports teams.
