RYE, N.Y. -- The Rye Arts Center has announced its programming for the summer of 2012. This year's lineup includes the return of the "Creative Arts Program," for children ages 4 through 12, and afternoon music lessons in various instruments including guitar and piano, according to the center.
The "Creative Arts Program" offers a variety of enrichment classes focusing on different art movements and culture, the center said. The classes, which run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., include drawing, painting, mixed movement, storytelling, creative movement and more. Space is still available for the morning program, which will run from June 25 to Aug. 10.
In addition to afternoon music lessons, the RAC is offering classes in songwriting, voice performance, dance Manga/cartooning, ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, watercolor, Garageband, writing and analog/digital photography, the center said.
Also returning to the RAC will be the Musical Theatre Workshop directed by Michael Awusie, a Monday through Friday, full day program open to all young thespians ages 8 through 12 for the final three weeks of August, the center said.
