Richard Berns, 88, of Rye

RYE, N.Y. – Richard T. Berns, a resident of Rye, died May 2. He was 88. 

The son of Frederick and Julie Elstein Berns, he was born Feb. 28, 1924, in New York City. Berns was married to the former Irene Brussovansky. 

He is survived by his wife, Irene; a son, Mitchell (Kimberly) Berns; two daughters, Barbara J. (Gregory) Klein and Diana L. Berns; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Berns.  

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
