RYE, N.Y. --  New Roc City's Seventh Annual "Ring in the New Year at Noon" family event on New Year's Eve day raised $3,000 for the Westchester Children’s Museum in Rye.

More than 1,500 enthusiastic kids and parents were on hand to witness the exciting noontime drop of 3,000 colorful and festive balloons, which descended from nets attached to the railings of the atrium.

“Ring in the New Year at Noon has become a year-end tradition featuring fun activities for kids, arts and crafts, balloon animals and hats, face painting, rides, clowns, great food and celebrity appearances as well as sacks for the kids with goodies inside," said Sherry Bruck, founder of Harquin Creative Group and creator and organizer for the event. "This year we were lucky to have NY Ranger Alum Ron Greschner on hand to sign autograph and was a big hit with parents and kids. The day was also a fundraiser for the second year in the row for the Westchester Children’s Museum."

Tracy Kay, executive director of the Westchester Children’s Museum, said, “We are honored to once again be the recipients of the funds raised at this fun, family event."

The Museum, located on the boardwalk at Rye Playland, is a light-filled, colorful, vibrant learning space filled with hands-on exhibits not found anywhere else in this region, according to a release.

It offers experiences in physics, science, art, technology, design, with places to climb, build and explore. It's a place where the child leads the process of discovery and learning while the adult shares the experience through their child’s eyes, the release said.

Ring in the New Year at Noon is held in association with the New Rochelle BID Family Day event series, as well as participating tenants and community partners including: FUNFUZION Games and Rides, Monroe College, Barnes and Noble, Modell’s Sporting Goods, Applebee’s, Premier Martial Arts, Planet Fitness, LAZ Parking, New Rochelle Parks and Recreation, Digital Arts Experience, Super Soccer Stars, New Rochelle Youth Hockey, Texas Roadhouse, Sky Zone, and Summit Security; and the event was supported by Westchester Parent and Westchester Family magazines.

New Roc City is a 450,000-square-foot entertainment/residential/retail complex located in the heart of downtown New Rochelle.
