After nearly 30 years as a licensed real estate broker, Cynthia Jaffee has developed what she calls an “unconscious confidence” when it comes to buying and selling homes. That means the Houlihan Lawrence professional has melded her familiarity with the real estate market in the Bedford, Pound Ridge, North Salem and Lewisboro townships with the ability to understand her clients’ needs. Her goal is to help them not only find a house — but find the right house.
“Anybody can write advertisements for listings and make the phone ring for a showing — but not everybody can negotiate. There is intuitiveness and you have to anticipate what the client needs are,” she says.
Jaffee recognizes the importance of getting to know what clients want in a house and also what they are looking for in location, such as the daily commute, village proximity and neighborhoods. As a Bedford resident since 1968, she provides a neighborly insight on how to be a friend, juggle parenting and maintain a professional life.
“Each person is like a hand in the game of bridge — you never get the same exact type of client,” she says.
Jaffee is also actively involved in the community in which she lives and works. A singer since the age of 5, she has performed with the Charis Chamber Voices at local venues, including the Bedford Presbyterian Church for the past 10 years. She is also a member of Katonah’s Caramoor Center for Music and Arts, where she has volunteered in the past.
She spends time with her now-grown children, sons Bill and Keith and her daughter, Jennifer, who has followed in her footsteps by working as a fellow licensed broker for Bedford’s Houlihan Lawrence office.
