RYE BROOK, N.Y. - Rye Brook native, Leonard Frances Monti died suddenly on Dec. 6 of heart failure. He was 52.
Monti was born Nov. 11, 1959 to Philip and Catherine Monti of Rye Brook. He graduated from Port Chester High School in 1978 after playing football for the Port Chester Rams. Monti held degrees from Westchester Community College, Iona College and Northern Miami State.
Monti was living in Cooper City, Fla. and working as a chef. He was recognized in 2009 in Cambridge Who's Who for excellence in food service. According to the article, he had been working at Memorial Hospital Pembroke since 2000 and specialized in the preparation of Italian and Asian food.
Monti is survived by his wife Kimberly Catalano Monti of Cooper City, his parents, his brothers Carlo Monti, Felix (Terri) Monti and Mark (Patty) Monti, his sisters Margaret (Joseph) Carpenteri, Mary (Richard) Romaner, Catherine Monti-McDermott and Elizabeth (Richard) Hudson and several nieces and nephews. No funeral services were announced.
