Rye Workers: Beware Of These Office Hotspots For Spreading Germs

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- With flu season fast approaching, the difference between being bed-ridden for weeks and staying healthy can often come down to staying away from germ hotspots in the office, according to The Wall Street Journal.

A recent University of Arizona study revealed that a contaminated push plate door in an office can spread infection to approximately half of the surfaces and half of the employees' hands in an 80-person office within four hours, The Journal reported. 

Common germ hotspots included coffee pots, microwave buttons, refrigerator and door handles as well as phones, desks and computers, The Journal said.
