But, in the end, it didn’t have to look farther than its own backyard.

On June 9, the role officially became Rye resident Meg Rodriguez’s.

Rodriguez has already worn many hats at the southern Westchester not-for-profit. She has served on its board since 2006 and has sat on its executive, membership and gallery committees. She has twice chaired Painters on Location, the center’s signature event. And, this year, she shepherded the Irving Harper Auction, the center said.

Rodriguez’s community participation doesn’t end there. She is currently on the board of directors of The Children’s Dream Foundation and has been involved with The American Yacht Club, Rye Middle School parent organizations, and 15th Twig.

The newly minted executive director said she plans to emphasize the center’s “commitment to excellence, so that students, members and visitors can always expect a first-class experience.”

Rodriguez, whose background is in marketing and finance, has worked at The Northern Trust Company and PNC Institutional Management Corp. Most recently she has acted as director of outreach and custom marketing programs at BFFL Co., a company dedicated to improving the experience and recovery of medical patients.

Jennifer Sandling, who chaired the search committee, praised Rodriguez for her “energy, knowledge and experience.”

“We are all excited to work with her to pursue our mission,” Sandling added.
