RYE/PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Launch of the Rye Historical Society’s Walk Rye History Heritage Trail and two farmers markets are some of the events on tap in Rye and Port Chester this weekend.
Friday, Sept. 7
Wiggle & Giggle Time: 9:30 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. Children will wiggle to music, giggle to funny rhymes, and pretend to be wild animals in this lively interactive program at the Rye Free Reading Room, 1061 Boston Post Road, Rye.
Teen Gaming: 3:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. Play Wii games on the big screen at the Community Meeting Room, Rye Free Reading Room, 1061 Boston Post Road, Rye.
Saturday, Sept. 8
Walk Rye History Heritage Trail: 9:30 a.m. Free public event by the Rye Historical Society. Village Green, 1061 Boston Post Road, Rye.
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church & Child Care Center Fall Fling: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Free community event with jumping castles, face painting and games for children, as well as barbecue food and drinks for purchase. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 761 King St., Rye Brook.
Rye Brook Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 761 King St., Rye Brook.
Reception for “Just a Moment” Art Exhibit: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Come by the Rye Free Reading room to see the work of Susan Scher and meet the artist. 1061 Boston Post Road, Rye.
Sunday, Sept. 9
Rye Farmers Market: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the parking lot behind the Purchase Street stores at 9 Theodore Fremd Ave., Rye.
