What To Do In Rye This Weekend

RYE/PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Concerts, a church fall fling, art show and Columbus Day parad are some of the events on tap in Rye and Port Chester this weekend.

Friday, Oct. 5

Wiggle & Giggle Time: 9:30 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. Children will wiggle to music, giggle to funny rhymes, and pretend to be wild animals in this lively interactive program at the Rye Free Reading Room, 1061 Boston Post Road, Rye.

Rock Against Relationship Violence: 7 to 11 p.m. The bands ISpaceWalkSometimes, Driftback, Strafumati, and Room 237 will perform a concert in conjunction with The Rye Youth Council to benefit My Sister’s Place, an organization based in White Plains that supports victims of domestic violence. City of Rye Recreation Center, 281 Midland Ave. Rye. Admission is $10. Open to all ages.

Sleigh Bells at The Capitol Theatre: 8 p.m. 18-and-over event. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the show. For tickets to Sleigh Bells click here. St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Fall Fling: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eighth annual fall fing featuring a vendor market, tag sale, kids games, special events, a 50/50 raffle, and food. Free parking and admission. St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 761 King St., Rye Brook.

Port Chester Tag Sale: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 69 Shelley Ave., Port Chester.

10573 Outdoor Art Show: 12 to 5 p.m. Second annual Port Chester-Rye Brook art show presented by the Port Chester Council for the Arts featuring the work of local artists including Vincent Bell, Frank Fanelli, Andrew Gillies, Brigitte Loritz, Grace Mora, Jess Palmer, and more at Crawford Park, 122 North Ridge St., Rye Brook.

Y2Night! Middle School Night at the Y: 7 to 10 p.m. Ultimate Kickball Tournament and Giant Inflatable Boxing Ring at the Rye YMCA, 21 Locust Ave., Rye. Free for members, $5 for nonmembers.

Rye Farmers Market: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the parking lot behind the Purchase Street stores at 9 Theodore Fremd Ave., Rye.

Port Chester Tag Sale: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 69 Shelley Ave., Port Chester.

Port Chester-Rye Brook Columbus Day Parade: 1 p.m. Line-up on Hawthorne Avenue in Rye Brook then the parade will move east along Westchester Avenue and ending at New Broad Street in Port Chester.

Blondie at The Capitol Theatre: 8 p.m. 18-and-over event. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Standing room only floor tickets are $45, Loge and Balcony tickets are $65. The Capitol Theatre is located at 149 Westchester Ave., Port Chester.
