Empty School Bag Project for Helping Hands for the Homeless and Hungry, Inc. 10 a.m. to noon. This is a Rye-based 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization that will have its 26th annual "Empty School Backpack" project Aug. 12-13. The goal is to provide 2,000 new backpacks, each filled with 18 school items for grades K-12. This will take place in the Resurrection Church basement, 910 Boston Post Road, Rye. helpinghandsrye.org
