RYE, N.Y. -- There are tons of events over weekend of Aug. 22-24 throughout Westchester County.

The events for Saturday, Aug. 22 include:

  • Lenoir Preserve, Yonkers--Summer Stroll (10-11:30 a.m.) A walk to observe the flora and fauna and search for birds, butterflies and dragonflies beginning to migrate.
  • Read Wildlife Sanctuary, Rye--Insect Walk (1-2:30 p.m.) Who’s Out There and What Are They Doing? Find out about these vital creatures as you scout for them at the preserve.

The events for Sunday, Aug. 23 include

  • Lasdon Park, Katonah--Tour of the Main House (2-3 p.m.) Learn about the history of the park during a tour with the horticulturist. Pre-registration required at (914) 864-7263. Meet in the Shop at Lasdon.

The events for Monday, Aug. 24 include:

  • Croton Point Park, Croton-on-Hudson--Fourth Monday (7:30-9:30 a.m.) Join members of Saw Mill River Audubon for a walk at this National Audubon “Important Bird Area.” Meet in the ball field parking lot. More info at www.parks.westchestergov.com.
