The 2016-2017 Friends of Music Concerts season is underway in the Kusel Auditorium at Sleepy Hollow High School.
The 63rd season continues with Takacs Quartet Saturday, Nov. 12, then French pianist Lise de la Salle will perform April 22, the Dover Quartet on May 6, and Windscape on May 20.
The Takács Quartet’s unique blend of drama, warmth, and humor brings fresh insights to the string quartet repertoire.
In this return engagement, the group will demonstrate that with an all-Beethoven program that includes the quartet in C-Sharp minor, Op. 131, considered by many be the greatest string quartet ever written.
Performance includes:
Beethoven: String Quartet in F major, Op.18, No.1
Beethoven: String Quartet in E-flat major(“The Harp”), Op.74
Beethoven: String Quartet in C-sharp minor, Op.131
Individual concert tickets cost $30 and are purchased online at www.friendsofmusicconcerts.org, or can be mailed with a check to Friends of Music Concerts, P.O. Box 675, Millwood, NY 10546.
After the Nov. 12 performance members of the audience may purchase the book, "Beethoven For A Later Age" and have their copies signed by author Edward Dusinbarre, the Takac's first violinist, said Betsy Shaw, Friends of Music Concerts, Inc. President.
All concerts are held in the Kusel Auditorium at Sleepy Hollow High School, 210 North Broadway (Route 9).
