Bread of Life representatives said the screening is set to address the more than 200,000 or 21 percent of Westchester residents who are hungry or at risk of hunger. Bread of Life was founded by the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Rye. The pantry feeds more than 500 people daily through their on-site and mobile food pantry, supplying food to families and government food pantries and shelters throughout southern Westchester County.
"I have a heart for helping those who do not have enough food to eat. Many people in our community do not understand the severity of the hunger problem right in our own backyard. I hope to raise awareness, so no one goes hungry on my watch" said Pastor Pasquale Falco from the Church of the Resurrection of Christ.
Bread of Life will screen “A Place at the Table” at 7 p.m. Mar. 13 at the Rye Free Reading Room. The film viewing will be followed by a panel discussion and question and answer session on the topic of hunger.
