RYE, N.Y. -- The City of Rye is hosting a Harvard medical professor for coaches and parents on Thursday.

Dr. Richard Ginsberg, assistant clinical professor of the Harvard Medical School, will lead a variety of discussions regarding "children and how they can navigate today's sports culture as they strive for excellence" and the city is inviting parents and coaches to attend on Thursday, according to a press release. Ginsberg is the author of "Whose Game is it, Anyway? A Guide to Helping Your Child get the Most From Sports," co-director of the MGH PACES Institute of Sport Psychology and Director of Psychological Services for the MGH Youth Sports concussion Clinic.

Ginsberg will first address Grammar School students on "conflict resolution on the playground" and RMS students on "using adversity to improve one's character and performance, dealing with cuts and finding one's niche," according to the release. In the evening, Ginsberg will be a part of the coaches' event at 5 p.m. at Rye High School and later the parents event at 7:30 p.m. at Rye Country Day School Performing Arts Center. The public is invited to attend either of the evening events.
