Rye Resurrection Christmas Fair Fun for All

RYE, N.Y. - Rye Resurrection School held its annual Christmas fair on Saturday and Sunday in the middle school's gymnasium. According to Resurrection parent Karen O'Hara, the fair was a major success.

"Everyone had a really good time," O'Hara said, "They really do a nice job every year".

The fair featured a variety of events including a craft station where children made Christmas ornaments, an Elf Shop featuring "toys, goodies, and trinkets", and numerous boutique vendors selling everything from purses to hand made pajamas.

However, the fair's Cake Walk was once again the biggest hit. "The kids always love a chance to win some free sweets," O'Hara said.

Also featured was a "Secret Santa Shop" where students have the opportunity to shop, with the help of a teacher or volunteer, for their parents.

"Since parents aren't allowed in the shop it gives the kids a chance to surprise us," O'Hara said, "They really get excited about it".

There was even a guest appearance from Santa Claus himself, who rode by on a Fire Truck during Saturday evening's tree lighting.
