RYE, N.Y. -- The annual Welcome Barbecue at the Rye Nature Center is set for Sunday, rain or shine.
The barbecue beings at 4 p.m. at the center and features tours and games for the kids, lots of food and drinks and a chance to meet other newcomers and long-time club members, according to a release from the Rye Newcomers and Neighbors Club.
The club's board will be on-hand to provide information on upcoming events.
"The Rye Newcomers and Neighbors Club of Rye, Rye Brook, Rye Neck, Harrison, Purchase and Port Chester, would love to have you join us," representatives said in the release. "Whether you're new to our area, or you've lived here for years and enjoy meeting new people, we have something to offer everyone. Our primary goal is to enrich the lives of all our members by providing varied social activities throughout the year where our members can meet new people and socialize with new friends."
Those joining the club also will be able to participate in the group's monthly activities, including book clubs, ladies' night out, a variety of family outings, children's activities, lunch bunch, BUNCO and couples' night out, according to the release.
The price for Sunday's barbecue is $20 for adults, $10 for children, $50 for families with the family member rate at $40. Residents are asked to include the number of adults and children when sending a check. Checks should be payable to RNNC-BBQ and mailed to Carol Pouchie at 8 Bulkley Manor, Rye, NY 10580.
