Rye Conservancy Offers Christmas Bird Count, Owl Prowl

RYE, N.Y. -- Marshlands Conservancy will present Christmas Bird Count with Mike Bochnik, president of the Hudson River Audubon Chapter, and Owl Prowl with Chris Mignone, Central Westchester Audubon Society board member on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m.

Hear Bochnik talk about the local Christmas Bird Counts, what the numbers mean and how participants can help. Learn more about the longest-running citizen science survey in the world, where more than 2,300 circles of data are gathered starting in the wee hours of the day. 

Before settling inside for this discussion, participate in an Owl Prowl. Mignone will lead participants out for an opportunity to hear what's calling in the night. 

Refreshments will be offered.
