RYE, N.Y. – Rye parents can learn the principles of effective child-rearing at a "Heard in Rye" lecture next month by parenting expert Anthony Wolf.
Wolf, a child psychologist and well-known speaker on children and parenting, has titled his talk “The Secret of Parenting: What Works and What Doesn’t.”
His presentation will take place Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rye Middle School Multipurpose Room, 3 Parsons St. Admission is free and all are welcome.
Wolf writes a column on parenting teens for the Toronto Globe and Mail and has written columns for Child Magazine in addition to blogging for media outlets such as The Huffington Post and Fox News.
In addition, he has authored five books on child-rearing, including, "I’d Listen to My Parents if They’d Just Shut Up" and the best-seller "Get Out of My Life but First Could You Drive Me and Cheryl to the Mall, A Parents’ Guide to the New Teenager."
"Heard in Rye" is a lecture series sponsored by the parents organizations and PTAs of public, independent and nursery schools in Rye, Mamaroneck and Rye Brook, as well as the Rye YMCA, the Rye PBA and the Rye Youth Council.
