Man Wanted For Stealing From Long Island Gas Station

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man who allegedly stole from a gas station and employee during an incident in Melville earlier this month.

An African American suspect allegedly stole headphones that belonged to an employee and cigarettes from Conoco on Walt Whitman Road at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, Police Sgt. Henry Arnold said. The man then fled in a grey Nissan.

In a surveillance photo released by investigators, the suspect can be seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a beard and flat-brimmed hat.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect, or who has information regarding the robbery has been asked to contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-220-TIPS or texting “SCPD” with the message to 274637.
