Law Issues For Seniors To Be Discussed In Rye

RYE, N.Y. – Residents throughout Westchester County will get the lowdown on law issues regarding seniors at a free program hosted by local attorneys at The Osborn in Rye on Aug. 1.

Attorneys will discuss wills versus trusts and planning for health care and financial security at the program beginning at 7 p.m. at 101 Theall Road in Rye. Steven A. Schurkman, a partner in Keane & Beane PC in White Plains as well as chair of the Senior Law Program, will present the introductory remarks, to be followed by two workshops.

Salvatore DiCostanzo from McMillan Constable Maker and Perone LLP in Larchmont will present the first workshop, discussing “To Probate or Not to Probate – When to use a will and when to use a trust.”

The second workshop will feature Rita Gilbert of Hyman & Gilbert in Larchmont, who will speak on “Take Charge: Advance Planning for Your Health Care and Financial Security.”

A question-and-answer session will follow the workshops. Refreshments will be served and parking is free.

The program is presented by the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services and the Westchester Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services.
