Jewish Community Center Organizes Annual Mitzvah Day

HARRISON, N.Y. -- The Jewish Community Center of Harrison held its annual Mitzvah Day on Sunday, April 3, and took part in many service projects.

The Jewish Community Center of Harrison held its annual Mitzvah Day on Sunday, April 3, and took part in many service projects, one of which included delivering homemade treats to local organizations that normally help the JCC.

A mitzvah is a good deed, anything a person can do to help others and help the community. 

This day of community service projects included: filling goodie bags for patients at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, delivering homemade treats to local organizations that normally help the JCC, giving flowers to seniors living in local nursing homes and providing candles to survivors in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day.

It also included hosting residents of the Coachman Family Center, entertaining the residents at the King Street Nursing Home, delivering sandwiches to feed the hungry at Grace Church in White Plains and much more.
