Northampton County Man, 33, Charged In Hit-And-Run Crash That Hospitalized Bethlehem Couple

A man from Northampton County has been charged in connection with a Wednesday night hit-and-run crash that hospitalized a couple from Bethlehem, authorities said.

Gary L. Buskirk, 33, was driving a Dodge Ram southbound on Route 512 in East Allen Township when he side-swiped a Pontiac G6 near Silver Crest Road just before 9:25 p.m., according to state police in Bethlehem.

Buskirk, of East Allen Township, fled the scene following the crash, police said.

He was charged with accidents involving death or personal injury while not licensed, reckless driving, failure to stop and give information/render aid and several other traffic offenses, police said.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old man driving the Pontiac and his 34-year-old female passenger were treated at the scene and taken to Lehigh Valley – Muhlenberg Hospital for further medical care.
