Not having a central location where people – especially Dutchess County baby boomers on the cusp of retirement and facing empty nests – can walk to shops and restaurants, is a problem, Rohr wrote in the Poughkeepsie Journal article.
Compact development, or making the town’s existing commercial corridors more Main Street-like, is the most obvious solution, said Rohr in her column for the Poughkeepsie Journal.
