WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- After being convicted on corruption charges, Westchester County attorney Anthony J. Mangone, was one of federal prosecutors' key cooperative witnesses, says the New York Times.

That is why his lawyer asked for no prison and the U.S. attorney's office called for leniency in Mangone's sentencing Monday in New York, says the New York Times.

While the U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon recognized what he contributed, she called Mangone "a dirty lawyer for many, many years" and handed out a sentence of 18 months and a $15,000 fine, according to the article.
