Hold On To Irish Spirit At The Rye Library

RYE, N.Y. – St. Patrick's Day might be over but the Rye Library is holding on to the Irish spirit just a little longer.

The library is hosting an afternoon in the “Emerald Isle” with a talk about St. Patrick, Irish dancing, and “Wearin’ o’ the Green” stories told by members of he Rye Storytellers’ Guild. The event will be held March 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Community Meeting Room. It is sponsored by Rye Free Reading Room.

The speaker will be Liam Murphy, who is Past National Historian for the Ancient Order of Hibernians. His presentation is entitled  “St. Patrick: the Man Behind the Green Line.” The dancers are students at the Kelly-Oster School of Irish Dance.Irish tea, cheeses and soda bread will be served.
