According to detectives, John Dejana, 47, of Port Washington, was the subject of the investigation by the FBI Long Island Joint Terrorism Task Force.
Investigators were able to secure a search warrant of his home and properties which they executed on Thursday, Oct. 3.
As a result of the search, investigators recovered 11 illegal “ghost guns” (Firearms without means of identification or serial numbers) handguns, 10 of which were inside his home and one inside his vehicle, police said.
Approximately 3,000 thousand rounds of ammunition, a quantity of marijuana as well as a number of anabolic steroids were also discovered inside the residence.
Also recovered were five New York State “Non-Safe Act Compliant” assault rifles, 12 “Non- Safe Compliant Act” ammunition magazines, as well as four “Ghost Gun Building Kits.”
Dejana was charged with first-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Friday, Oct. 4.
