Mixed Results In State Report On Dutchess School Districts

Now that Poughkeepsie High School is being removed from the state's receivership program, school officials are concerned about losing an additional $250,000 from the state, the Poughkeepsie Journal reports.

Another three Dutchess County school districts are slated to come off the state's Education Department "focus" list while two Poughkeepsie schools districts have moved down to "priority" status, the Poughkeepsie Journal reports.

The listing of school districts is a way for the Education Department to keep track of how well the district's are doing. Districts in receivership are at risk of takeover by the state, The Poughkeepsie Journal reports.
