Volunteers are wanted from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday to help on a work project to create an outdoor classroom. Oak stumps cut from Hurricane Sandy will be turned into seats for a mini auditorium. Hand tools will be provided, but bring your own work gloves. Meet in the visitor's center.
On Sunday, there will be a spring bird migration hike at 7:30 a.m. The Marshlands has habitats for warblers, vireos and many other birds who will be returning from their southern journey. Bring your own binoculars and meet in the visitor's center.
At 2 p.m. Sunday, there will be a toddler time program for children ages 4 and under. Kids will walk a trail, look under logs and observe all sorts of shapes, sizes and colors. All nature tools will be provided, and attendees should meet in the visitor's center.
