Tony Lucchi recently had surgery to remove his bladder and prostate, and reconstruct a bladder out of his intestines, according to YouCaring page set up to raise money for the family.
"All in all the prognosis is good," the page states.
“His recovery will be a long one … but he has a positive attitude and is keeping his eyes on the long term prize … living a long, healthy life with his family,” the page states.
Lucchi was diagnosed with cancer in February, after his wife Darlene survived two bouts with cancer. The couple has three children.
“The journey for the Lucchi's will continue to be tough for the next few months, but because of all their friends and family they will make it through this life test as well,” the page states.
Nearly $12,000 had been raised for the family by Wednesday afternoon.
