Amy Goodman Of 'Democracy Now' Speaks Tuesday At Manhattanville

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Manhattanville College invites the public to a unique evening conversation with Amy Goodman, the host and executive producer of "Democracy Now!," an award-winning independent news program airing daily on more than 1,200 public television and radio stations world wide.

The event takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m., in the West Room at Reid Castle on Manhattanville’s campus off Route 120 in Purchase. 

Goodman’s fifth book, "The Silenced Majority: Stories of Uprisings, Occupations, Resistance, and Hope," written with Denis Moynihan, rose to No. 11 on The New York Times bestseller list.

The book is a follow-up to her fourth New York Times bestseller, "Breaking the Sound Barrier," and gives voice to the many ordinary people standing up to corporate and government power.

The event is free and open to the public, and co-sponsored by the Connie Hogarth Center for Social Action.
