Rye Shoppers Said To Have Faux Fur Fever, Crave Cashmere

RYE, N.Y. – Fur garments seem to be everywhere this season, says a Rye shopping maven; but don’t worry, no animals were harmed in the making of these scarves and vests.

Faux fur clothes and accessories are only topped in popularity by anything that sparkles from jewelry to party tops, says Carol Bloom Stevens, a Daily Voice community advisor and public relations executive.

For the little-more-reserved folks on your holiday list -- cashmere blankets. Stevens said she noticed that the cozy cuddlers, which can also be used as shawls, are selling like hotcakes in Rye.

And if they are the more practical sorts -- light, yet sturdy, tote bags are always a welcome gift, Stevens said.
