Rye Merchants 'Partner With Pets' Rescued By Harrison Shelter For Holidays

RYE, N.Y. -- If you're looking for last-minute holiday gifts -- and want to help homeless animals at the same time -- downtown Rye is the place to be shopping on Saturday.

Nearly two dozen Rye store owners and restaurants have "Partnered with Pets" on Dec. 19 to raise money for Pet Rescue of Harrison. 

Spend the day dining and shopping on and nearby Purchase Street in Rye to benefit the cats and dogs at Pet Rescue.

Store owners and restaurants listed below have made a donation or are offering special discounts to shoppers on Saturday with proceeds benefiting Pet Rescue. 

In addition, Lola's fine jewelry store is donating 20 percent of all between Dec 14 and Sunday Dec.20.

Angela's fine clothing and accessories store is donating 10 percent of its sales on Saturday to Pet Rescue.

Other Rye merchants participating in "Partners with Pets" include: 

All Paws, Arcade Books, Frankie & Johnnie's restaurant, Joan Sansone Antiques & Estate Jewelry, Le Beastro, Nest Inspired Home, Numi Hair Salon, Pet Pantry Warehouse, Ruby's Oyster Bar & Bistro, Rye Grill & Bar, Rye Stationer, Walin & Wolff and Wine at Five. 

Meanwhile, the popular Pet Rescue Shelter at 7 Harrison St. in Harrison is holding a "meet and greet" to view and adopt pets on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. More details about that, or for applications for foster care or permanent adoptions click here.

Daily Voice reported here about Pet Rescue's latest mission to save dogs and puppies from a "high kill" shelter in Louisiana in November.

Pet Rescue will host another "meet and greet" on Dec. 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 7 Harrison Ave., Harrison. Adoption applications are online here or call (914) 835-3332 for details.

Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization founded in 1982. The group has rescued more than 15,000 animals.
