The store, set to open in the Vernon Hills Shopping Center, was to be the first of its kind opening in Minnesota, California, Virginia and Texas, according to lohud.com, which reported that the delay in Eastchester is largely the result of construction hiccups.

A spokeswoman for the bookseller said Eastchester’s store will be among three expected to open by the end of the year, according to lohud.com.

While the Vernon Hills store is not yet ready to open, Barnes and Noble employees have been receiving on-site training and stocking shelves, according to lohud.com, which reported that the new store will feature a wide array of books, expanded seating, open spaces, a full-service restaurant and an outdoor patio with a fire pit and outdoor seating.
